An official website and X (formerly Twitter) account opened today revealed that a TV anime adaptation of Umikaze Minamino, JISHAKU and Katana Canata's Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden light novel series is in production for a planned October 2026 broadcast. It's the second work of Minamino's to be adapted, following this season's Kunon the Sorcerer Can See . The announcement came with a teaser trailer and visual, along with cast and production staff details. As previewed in the trailer below, Honoka Inoue (Anne in Anne Shirley ) voices the titular Nia Liston. Nijigasaki High School Idol Club ). Haruta Segi serves as assistant director and Hiromi Kikuta serves as sound director. J-Novel Club publishes an official English version of the original light novels and describes the story: A great hero lies undefeated on her deathbed, regretting that she never found a foe who could take her down.
