Netflix Japan released a teaser trailer and visual for the upcoming live-action series based on Ushijima the Loan Shark author Shohei Manabe's Sins of Kujo (known as Kujo no Taizai in Japan) legal drama manga. The trailer features the theme song "Dogs" performed by Japanese rock band Hitsujibungaku . The 10-episode series will start streaming on Netflix worldwide on April 2, 2026. The series has surpassed four million copies in print. Yuya Yagira (Toshiro Hijikata in the Gintama live-action film series) is cast as the protagonist, Kujo Kujo, while Hokuto Matsumura (idol group SixTONES member) plays Kujo's associate lawyer, Shinji Karasuma. The other main cast members include Elaiza Ikeda, Keita Machida, Takuma Otoo, Tsuyoshi Muro, Takenori Goto, Kaito Yoshimura, Rintaro Mizusawa, Shunsuke Tanaka, and Kodai Kurosaki. The synopsis reads: Does defending the greyest of the grey make him a just lawyer or a wicked one? This crime drama will make you rethink everything you know about law and morality. Kujo Taiza is a lawyer who defends only society’s worst, including thugs and ex-convicts. When elite lawyer Shinji Karasuma finds himself working for Kujo, he is quickly shocked by the man’s unconventional style that doesn’t adhere to standard ethics. As they represent clients with cases that reflect the gritty underbelly of society, Karasuma comes to realize Kujo’s conviction but struggles to grasp his idea of justice, which he will stop at no grey method to achieve.
