Hot off the heels of the announcement of a brand new Dragon Ball Super anime, another anime series was announced at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event today, an “enhanced” remake of Battle of Gods titled Dragon Ball Super: Beerus . A “SUPER launch trailer” was released alongside a visual and airing window of Fall 2026. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus SUPER Launch Trailer and Key Visual On stage at the event were Goku's voice actor, Masako Nozawa, Beerus’ voice actor, Koichi Yamadera, and Executive Producer Akio Iyoku. Iyoku explained that they went back to Akira Toriyama’s original drafts for the story, and the team decided to be more faithful to Toriyama’s original ideas. One of those elements was making Beerus a more powerful enemy and a more compelling character. The team at Toei has “added new cuts of animation, improved the quality of the drawings, and reshot all the cuts” for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus , according to the executive on stage. Like The Galactic Patrol , late Akira Toriyama is credited with the original work, story and character design for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus , with Toei Animation producing the series as they did for the original Battle of Gods film and first Dragon Ball Super series. Beerus is set to premiere in Fall 20206 on Fuji TV in Japan.
