A co-op survival horror game involving the woods seems like a no-brainer, doesn’t it? That’s what Misterial Games (the folks being the Lovecraftian first-person survival horror title Stygian: Outer Gods) is banking on with Deadhikers, which will be having a public playtest for fans looking to roam the woods with friends…and survive.
Deadhikers is set in an isolated wilderness, where you and your friends have been cut off from the world after an attack by unknown creatures deep in the forest. Now the only goal is to find your way out. In order to do that, you’ll need to survive the wilderness. That means trying not to die from hunger, cold, exhaustion, or from whatever is stalking you in the darkness every night.
During the day, you and your group will be searching for the path out of the forest, overcoming obstacles with unique movement mechanics, and gathering resources to survive. At the same time, you’ll also be uncovering clues to the dark story of this place.
At night, you’ll need to build a fire to keep warm. At the same time, you’ll also need to stay quiet. Or whatever it is in the dark will hear you…
