The official website for AnimeJapan , one of the largest Japanese anime exhibition events held annually in Tokyo since March 2014, released a key visual today for its upcoming 2026 show . The visual features a collection of characters from 22 popular works, as well as AJ Bothers, the official characters of AnimeJapan. Additionally, the site announced that the members of Japanese girl idol group Sakurazaka46 will serve as the event's official ambassadors for two consecutive years following last year. One of the member of the group, Rina Matsuda said, "Following last year, I'm thrilled to serve as the ambassador again this year! Standing on the AnimeJapan stage for the first time last year was an unforgettable experience—even amidst the nerves, I felt the excitement, fun, and thrill of anime! AnimeJapan 2026 will bring new encounters with anime, new connections with people, and new discoveries of what we love. I'm ready to have an amazing time with everyone who comes to the venue! Sakurazaka48 members Message Video from Sakurazaka46 AnimeJapan2026 , the 13th show of the event, is scheduled to open at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo on March 28 and 29, 2026. Over 120 exhibitors, including major anime-related companies such as Aniplex Inc., KADOKAWA Corporation, TOHO animation (TOHO Co., Ltd.), and Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc., have confirmed their participation.
