Fairy Tail Celebrates 20 Years With New Hiro Mashima Illustration

The guild of Fairy Tail is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, when the first chapter of the manga by Hiro Mashima was published in the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine. To commemorate the start of the festivities, Mashima drew a new illustration of the classic characters in their original outfits.  Fairy Tail Manga 20th Anniversary Illustration In the above tweet from Mashima, the manga creator thanks fans who have been “cheering us on all this time!!” and states that there are “loads planned for this year.” However, details will be announced later. RELATED: Fairy Tail: Dungeons Game Heads to Switch on January 7 Fairy Tail published its first chapter on August 2, 2006, and ran for 11 years, finishing up on July 26, 2017. The series was collected into 63 volumes which has sold and printed over 72 million copies. A sequel series, FAIRY TAIL 100 Years Quest , started on July 25, 2018 and is storyboarded by Mashima and drawn by Atsuo Ueda.
