Latest ‘Resident Evil Requiem’ Trailer Shows Off Nvidia-Powered Eye Candy [Trailer]

Capcom has teamed with Nvidia to release a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, focusing on the graphical goodies that await with the RE Engine, as well as dropping hints of a larger open environments for players to explore. Along with showing off snippets of a bustling city location, the new trailer demonstrates 4K Path Tracing (how light interacts with objects) and Nvidia’s DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation found in Requiem.

Apart from the accidental leak last month that spoiled the return of Leon Kennedy, Capcom has been keeping details under wraps in regards to Requiem. Which is why this latest trailer, with its busy urban location, comes as a big surprise.

This also happens to coincide with noted leaker DuskGolem’s X post from last August, mentioning Capcom had been “working hard to achieve having good performance on open-level designed areas like Raccoon City”.

Still, Capcom is drip-feeding details here and there about Requeim. An interview with Automaton last month had Requiem director Akifumi Nakanishi revealing that Leon and Grace’s playable sections would be “almost equally split,” with a structure similar to Resident Evil Revelations.

“As the plot advances, you switch between Leon’s sections and Grace’s sections,” explained Nakanishi. “There are even some scenes where they meet. Grace is ‘the biggest scaredy-cat in Resident Evil history,’ while Leon is a seasoned veteran, so seeing how those personalities interact is part of the fun.”

And in case people were wondering, it would appear that Leon’s sections will lean towards more action than horror. As Nakanishi explains it, “Grace’s gameplay is based on Resident Evil 2, whereas Leon’s gameplay includes martial arts and melee moves, based on Resident Evil 4.”

Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27 on the PlayStation 5Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
