The official website for 9-nine- Ruler's Crown , the upcoming TV anime adaptation of PALETTE's four-part visual novel series 9-nine- , has posted a first trailer, which announced the anime's July 2025 premiere in Japan. 9-nine- Ruler's Crown 1st Trailer The clip also introduced the anime's ending theme song "Pale Blaze" sung by Chihiro Yonekura, who previously provided all of the opening and ending theme songs for the original game series. "The ED theme song 'Pale Blaze' was written by Tako Yamaguchi-san, and composed and arranged by Shota Horie-san, a super tag team familiar to '9-nine-,'” said Yonekura. "Even at the demo version stage, I was so captivated by the dynamic development of the song that I was in tears by the time I finished listening to it. As the four chapters progress, protagonist Kakeru Niimi learns more about the supernatural influences of the people and places around him. All four chapters are available on Steam . Sekai Project, who releases the series in English, describes it thus: The scene: Shiromitsugawa, a run-of-the-mill college town that has launched several failed attempts to drum up tourism and revitalize itself, including sponsoring a high-budget-but-poorly-written anime based on local folklore. A storm is about to descend on this sleepy town. We follow Kakeru Niimi, a man who can be a bit curt at times but who has a strong sense of responsibility and a kind heart. Kakeru's ordinary life is thrown into chaos after the local shrine's sacred relic shatters. In the wake of this event, several young men and women awaken to superhuman abilities. What was once a run-of-the-mill life in a run-of-the-mill town soon turns into a quest to track down a superpowered serial killer before they can strike again.
