The longest lasting haunted walk on Long Island returns this weekend with the 37th annual edition of Spooky Walk, a 45-minute terror experience that started way back in the 1980s!
Started in 1989, Spooky Walk is a fundraiser hosted by the Camp Paquatuck Fundraisers (formally the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws) to benefit Camp Paquatuck, a camp for children and adults with special needs. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the camp!
The 37th annual Spooky Walk kicks off on Friday, October 17 and continues on the following nights only: Saturday, October 18, Friday, October 24, and Saturday, October 25. The scares begin at 7pm ET on those nights, and the event is scheduled to end at 9pm ET.
In addition to the Spooky Walk itself, which features a plethora of different themed attractions that take you through the woods and usher you into various houses, the event also features a food tent and a beer tent, with the team serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage & peppers, roasted corn, hot pretzels, candy apples, and beer from Long Island Farm Brewery.
Spooky Walk is located at 2 Chet Swezey Rd. in Center Moriches, NY, right here in my neck of the woods on Long Island. It’s one of my personal favorite things to do during the Halloween season, and I can’t recommend it enough. Not only is it all for a good cause, but it’s impressive enough to feel like a mini Halloween Horror Nights out in the woods of Center Moriches.
I’ll be there this coming Saturday night. Say hi if you see me there!
Tickets are sold at the gate only. Learn more on the official Spooky Walk website!
