2D Survival Horror Title ‘Dead of Darkness’ Comes to Consoles July 2 [Trailer]

Prior to its launch on Steam back in January, developer Retrofiction Games announced that their 2D Resident Evil-inspired Survival Horror title Dead of Darkness would be getting a console release. That console release will be happening next month, as Dead of Darkness launches July 2 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Not only that, but physical editions of the game are currently in the works, with more information to be shared at a later date.

As previously mentioned, Eastasiasoft Limited will be handling the publishing duties for the console version, which will priced at US$15.99. And for a limited time, a 20% launch discount will be available for select regions and platforms.

Dead of Darkness takes place in 1985 England, where private investigator Miles Windham follows a lead regarding the mysterious death of his daughter that takes him to Velvet Island. Upon his arrival on the island, Windham notes the strange behaviours of the residents. In fact, there is a growing hostility towards the investigator that seems to become stronger by the minute. It doesn’t take long for the situation to escalate, and Miles finds himself in a struggle for his own survival.

Featuring 25 spoken roles and a multi-layered story, Dead of Darkness has so far earned a 90% “Very Positive” score on aggregated reviews on Steam.
